Just catching up with yesterday's stories - most of what I'd say has already been covered by others. I'd just say I don't think we should underestimate how smart TA is JoanneH. The empty election slogans he knows he'll never fulfill - partly because he'd have a mutiny on his hands with the navy - and the tight control of info all take some calculation. You just have to wonder what else is going on that we're not hearing about. Thanks for wading into the fog on our behalf Monica. - miranda Oh! what av youse done. Poor bugger, my country. - Depressed Well said. - Depressed Tony has adopted the pale blue tie because blue is the colour of Our Lady (Our Lady of Good Counsel, Our Lady of Miracles, gobleni milena Our lady of Victories, Our Lady of Sorrows). Personally, I don't think Our Lady would like him very much. Isn't that so Monica ? - Marian I seriously doubt that young man has Woody Allan genes. The resemblance to Frank Sinatra is very close. I have never liked Woody Allen, I always sensed something was not right with him. I never liked his films either, gobleni milena and could never see the genius everybody raved about. What concerns me is the way Hollywood seems to defend men such as Woody Allen and Roman Polanski, who raped a 13yo girl. Maybe someone on Hoopla could write something about that. - Lucy Im a relative newcomer to this site....I joined the "gang"pretty much during the election campaign and I can't say how much I looked forwrd to reading the comments and opinions of lefties and right wingers during this time."hoopla" provided a very interesting snapshot of what todays thinking women (and men) are feeling.i love a lively debate gobleni milena ...it's like exercise for the mind...lets see more controversial topics as well as all the funny and informative ones too. - Tina "You're 13 - you can take care of yourself." Said by a trusted female adult when I heard a 9-year-old girl in the street had been assaulted by a local businessman and neighbour, and admitted (for the first time) that it had happened to me, too. - jane Been reading gobleni milena since the beginning - very much enjoy the variety of pieces - I sincerely hope there is financial success to be found in this model of online publishing. - Janine Congratulations Wendy, Jane and the Hoopla team as well as all who sail in her! What a great venture and a wonderful success story! Thank you for all the stories coming from everyone who posts on this site, no matter their status in the world. Reading Hoopla, at times I've felt both challenged and uplifted by the words and stories of others as well as feeling challenged gobleni milena to tell some of my own story. Hoopla truly is a one-stop therapy shop for so many women as they unburden their hearts and minds of past hurts, experiences and confusions as well as sharing concerns and insights about the state of the world. I guess you never thought you'd be opening such a can of worms! All credit to the editors staying on the job here. It is an absolute credit to you handling such a variety gobleni milena of input, especially when the political heat is on! I had a weekly community radio program for many years and often thought gobleni milena it would be wonderful to provide a radio station online which would give women, especially oppressed women, 'a voice'. So here you are Hoopla! So happy to see you and be with you each day at a particularly trying time in my own life when I have little contact with the wider world. Wishing you well for ongoing success and expansion! Maybe a women's radio station, TV station, film company! Who knows how far this initial venture will take you. My wholehearted support to you all. I am with you! Much love and gratitude Helen Nicholas - helen b Love The Hoopla - congratulations of your offerings of stimulating and amusing commentary! Well done! - Jane
As a print and TV journalist who once worked in the Canberra press gallery I spent a lot of my career searching myself about whether I was letting my own political views influence the news and feature gobleni milena stories I wrote and reported on.
There s no way I m voting Liberal given Tony Abbott s track record on feminist issues. I m also wary of voting Green because, while I admire their environmentalist policies and some of their social policies, I don t believe they have what it takes to make a real difference in a resolutely two party system.
Anne Summers has made a passionate case for Julia Gillard s Prime Ministership and the way it has been white-anted gobleni milena by conservative forces and openly misogynistic comments. I agree with Summers gobleni milena on that.
Gillard deserves enormous credit for her capacity to negotiate and get legislation passed. As she demonstrated when confronted by Howard Sattler – the reigning village idiot in the idiot village of shock jockery – she is cool and tough.
When Gillard raises gender issues gobleni milena in a manner gobleni milena that seems transparently calculated gobleni milena to damage Abbott and pull focus, it undermines the credibility gobleni milena she established when she spoke out about sexism in politics. Worse, s
