Hello, this is 4 times (for now) I find these critters 2-3 cm crawling home. The first three were in my kitchen, 4th (that I could take living photo) was in my room. I have not seen where they came from but they were each nearly a plinth. I have not yet seen flying and do not know if they can. There is one who nibbled a small cardboard box, another a large paper envelope, even that was a pretty unpleasant noise. Not knowing what to do, I had to crush the ... the fact remains that I hesitated between this part of the forum and the "Battling bugs" because I want me to rid, not liking too find this stuff at home, especially ds awakening. Still, that has looks to me to be a form of coloptre but I need your help to identify it. Here is the picture (we do not clear but there is a line in the middle of the back): Thank you
Completely agree with Phyllobius, it is a Blaps sp. (Family Tenebrionidae). + 1 think we can leave for their lives, these charming beetles are perfectly harmless, and also, they are "solid" lo vi song sharp ... they are put out (gently), they s 'will come out very well Damien
Thank you for your rponse! lo vi song sharp I suspected that that j'crase passionns lo vi song sharp adrangerait of this stuff but I'm not the patient type with insects. Well, next time I'll try to swing by the window! By cons, apparently this thing is called "scarabe funbre" or "Blaps hoodoo" brrr ...
Poor Blaps have the misfortune of being black o these superstitions of another age. Throw them out the window let a chance (is the garden if possible). May we know your location (these beasts are common in the South, but much less in the North)?
I live in the Netherlands, in the city of Leiden more precisely. And I do not have a garden, my window overlooking lo vi song sharp the street. I accuracy of all I was asking lo vi song sharp in particular whether and how I should treat as it is, as I said several times that I find, and I fear suddenly there is a nest in the corner and I am invaded. lo vi song sharp
It is better to avoid insecticides and Introduced in the case, a simple collection of insects enough (put them in a box and librer if possible in nature). Do you have a dark place (eg cellar) o could dvelopper larvae? Otherwise, perhaps behind walls, under floors, etc. ... If you collect all adult insects you find, will eliminate a strain.
I would add that there is no nest, the larvae dveloppent autonomous manner in mainstream cachs places, feeding on various waste. And again, no danger with these critters, lo vi song sharp insecticides are harmful to humans by cons.

Say that not knowing what I'm dealing with, I prefer not to waste time and ensure the safety rather than take risks. lo vi song sharp reassures me to know that it is not dangerous, but I think having to deal with because I did not want to find important documents bouffs both data I've seen snacking paper. And this is not a very pleasant company. FYI I do not have a basement, I live in an apartment on the ground-shoes. My window lo vi song sharp overlooks the street and there is not in my city, wood or forto I could relcher is small but very urban.
The choice of process is actually impacting on insects (even if there is a good chance that many larvae rchappent and therefore has nothing rgle the problem), but also knew you ... There are enough studies to not be able to ignore the use of pesticides plays a very important lo vi song sharp role in serious health disorders (see studies of the MSA between lo vi song sharp more) ...
